The History of Outlaw BBQ

From baby back ribs, to our slow smoked Beef Brisket and Pork Shoulder our meats are cooked low and slow with Oak and Cherry wood.  We use tips and tricks that we learned in competition BBQ to bring you the best mouth watering BBQ in the area. We strive to bring you best traditional Kansas City BBQ and menu items that are like no other you have seen before.   We are proud to say that everything that we serve is made in house.  From our Appetizers to our Sausage, Soups, BBQ Sauce, Rubs, Side Dishes and everything else on the menu we make from scratch! 

How it all Began

Years prior to opening the restaurant, while serving on active duty with the United States Coast Guard, Steve established a passion for barbecue. Steve was able to experience different ways to BBQ while in the South Eastern United States and the Caribbean.   After moving to Maryland in 2002 Steve took the BBQ skills that he learned, combined it with his background as a meat cutter and experience working in the retail food industry to develop his Outlaw brand BBQ sauces and dry rubs.   Steve and Leah began to cater parties and started a competition BBQ team in 2008.

Since 2008 Steve and Leah have competed in competition BBQ as 5-0 BBQ in the Kansas City BBQ Society circuit.  5-0 BBQ has won numerous awards for their BBQ and their very own Outlaw BBQ Sauce.
